Do you think hitting your child is the way to go? Or do you think punishment takes care of it?

I don't think hitting your child will solve anything. if anything, it'll show them to try harder not to get caught next time..

Both together form the best......kids will be kids no matter how much punishment is given but the best is to show that you you self have respect for you own parents and they will follow suit.

I disagree. If you hit your child and you're not telling them why, or not banning them from anything, they can always stand the beating. However punishment makes them live in their own mental torment.

That's why I said both....at the same time....truly get them to understand the reasons coupled with the punishment itself....concequences are to be dealt as they are threatened or else you lose your authority and the child gains control.....you are talking to a parent remember

I dont believe im hitting a child to stop it being naughty kids r kids there guna play up but if they do something really bad than there may be a reason to hit them lightly but an easier punishment would be to take away something they enjoy and love than they will learn.....

I believe in both.
Spanking because it shows them want they get for their wrong doing; and I doubt that they would want that regularly.
Punishment because if you talking away a privilege that they love to do, they would not want to do what they did to get it taken away from them again.

I wouldn't necessarily call it hitting because that sounds a bit harsh.As if you're actually hitting them; like punching.If it's pushed to that extent I will totally disagree with it.

I will go with punishment because i was never hit as a child everytime i did something wrong i was punished and my parents too things away from me, beating a child doesn't solve anything in my eyes because after awhile you hitting ur child will become ineffective because they will become adapted to the beating and making them become violent when they become older and they beat there children as well when they have some
